ABOUT.
ISACA Malaysia Chapter is excited to announce the return of its virtual Cybersecurity, IT Assurance and Governance (CIAG) Conference. As witnessed and experienced by many last year, the virtual conference has allowed us to bring in subject matter experts beyond our shores, and we strive to do the same this year. We are privileged to have ISACA’s Global Chief Membership & Marketing Officer, Julia Kanouse, joining us to kick start the 3 days event, followed by a series of sharing sessions by some of the most esteemed speakers locally as well as outside of Malaysia.
Rapid advances in technology and the emergence of new digital solutions have accelerated the digital transformation agenda. Many organizations are starting to feel the pressure to take advantage of digital opportunities or risk losing out in competition. Along with this comes rising concerns on the risk of technology and digital adoption - security, privacy and technology resiliency are just amongst the few. This CIAG Virtual Conference will feature many points of views presented by our esteemed subject matter experts in various plenaries, panels and masterclasses. The main conference on 9th and 10th of August will feature keynote address, plenary and panel discussion sessions, while 11th August conference day will be split into concurrent management and technical masterclasses covering the latest development on cybersecurity, IT governance, business continuity management and assurance, in the context of digital transformation. These classes are designed to provide ‘live’ practical experiences and thoughts sharing by the speakers.
This year’s CIAG will be fully electronic - in addition to the online program presentation, conference delegates can leverage on the conference virtual platform to stay in tune with the plenary speakers, conference schedules and provide feedback as well as accessing the presentation and sponsors materials.
Previous Editions
This is the 20th edition of the ISACA Malaysia Chapter’s preeminent Conference with the first one held in 2002, then known as the IT Governance Conference. It was then jointly organized with the Malaysian National Computer Confederation (MNCC), an esteemed partner of the Conference for many years. The Conference has been held annually since then with exception of the year 2020 edition due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 19th edition in 2021 was our maiden virtual conference.
In 2011, it was re-branded as the IT Governance, Assurance & Security Conference, where the Conference has fast become the premier annual conference for the IT assurance, security, risk and governance professionals. The Conference has always been the leading event that brings in not only new relevant topics and ideas, but also ingenious delivery methods – being one of the first to pioneer an electronic approach – from being partially electronic, through the use of removable medias (CDs and customized drives) to provide delegates with the related materials to being fully electronic with the introduction of mobile tablets as the delivery channel. This is our second year running CIAG on virtual platform.
The current iteration as the Cybersecurity, IT Assurance & Governance Conference (CIAG) has been solely organized by the ISACA Malaysia Chapter since 2016. The Conference is fortunate to have the support of the thousands of delegates who have attended the previous editions and the many esteemed partners in the form of supporting professional organizations and sponsors from well-known organizations throughout the editions.
Organizer
The Conference is organized by the ISACA Malaysia Chapter Board members and volunteers together with the ISACA Malaysia Chapter’s Secretariat. The Board members and volunteers are not paid, and have tirelessly volunteered their time and effort for the success of these Conferences – from planning and organization to running the Conferences themselves. All net proceeds from the Conferences (including all previous editions) are for the benefit of the ISACA Malaysia Chapter in supporting the many events organized for their members’ benefit.
