Ruben is a cybersecurity practitioner who has been working in the industry for 21 yrs and pursuing his Doctorate on Cybersecurity in the United States. A frequent speaker in ISACA Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines. He has collaborated with both local and international CERTs doing investigations, research and acting as a highly technical consultant for various design, build, educate and operate initiatives for private and public sector in APJ, Middle East and Africa and the United States. His career highlights include working with the Singapore Government during the Anonymous 2013 attack and investigations at present day on Advance Persistent Threats in the Philippine government. Collaborated with cyber and intelligence international attaches like South Korea and Department of Homeland Security on Philippine used cases.

He has taught in both Singapore and Philippines and published research around cybersecurity. He has collaborated with the Research for the Center for Security Studies in Switzerland conducted for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) regarding cyber-warfare. Currently authoring the Bangsamoro Cybersecurity Master Plan in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
