Ong Johnson is a qualified legal professional and a nationally recognised authority in data protection, technology law, and fintech regulation. As Head of the Technology Practice Group at Halim Hong & Quek, he leads a cutting-edge team advising leading technology companies, digital banks, blockchain ventures, and telecommunications providers on some of the most complex and transformative legal issues in Malaysia. Ong Johnson currently serves as the appointed Data Protection Officer for over 20 companies across various regulated sectors and sits on the drafting working committee with the Personal Data Protection Commissioner, where he plays an active role in shaping Malaysia’s future privacy and data governance framework.
