Retired Group Chief Internal Auditor
Sow Yoke (FCCA (UK), CA (M), Chartered Banker (AICB & CBI UK), CISA, CRISC) has 37 years of external and internal audit experience. She started her career with a leading accounting firm and was with a major conglomerate before she went into banking, serving as the Chief Internal Auditor of 2 foreign banks and the Group Chief Internal Auditor of a local bank. Recognized as a banking industry leader, she was among the first batch of 45 senior bankers who were conferred the title “Chartered Banker” by the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) and the Chartered Banker Institute (CBI)UK in 2015.
Having managed internal audit for 30 years, Sow Yoke has excellent understanding and practical application of internal controls. A chartered accountant who is also certified in information systems audit, risks and controls, she appreciates the interplay between financial, operational and technology in the achievement of control objectives. Sow Yoke also has in-depth technical knowledge and practical experience in emerging risk areas such as information risk management, cybersecurity, data management and corporate governance.
Sow Yoke believes in continued professional development. She has been serving in various examination committees in AICB for more than a decade and is currently an Examiner for AICB’s Chartered Banker Examination and sits in 2 of AICB’s Industry Curriculum Committees.
She retired in September 2020 to venture into training and consultancy.
