IT GOVERNANCE 2010 CONFERENCE: ENHANCING VALUE AND BUILDING TRUST THROUGH ICT 25 & 26 May 2010
OFFICIATED BY - YB Datuk Dr. Maximus Ongkili, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation
VENUE - The Ballroom, Grand Dorsett Subang Hotel, Subang Jaya, Selangor
2010 marks the 9th year our highly successful ISACA/MNCC IT Governance Conference. The theme of this year’s conference is developed in line with the new ISACA tagline "Trust in, and value from, information systems." This will be the year to strengthen and build on strategies implemented in 2009 that helped organizations braved the financial crisis. As companies change gears from surviving to expansion mode, the focus is now on creating and delivering value to customers. From enhanced value, trust is built and customer satisfaction achieved. Public and private companies are all subjected to governance practices that were challenged during the previous year’s crisis and will continued to be challenged as stakeholders demand higher levels of transparency and accountability from organizations.
As companies continue to invest into information communication technology (ICT) for strategic purposes, senior executives will be challenged to answer the question of “How do we set and define business direction for IT and ensure that relevant and required IT governance practices are established, business value is delivered and IT-related risks are mitigated?” It is with this in mind that the organising committee has developed a programme that will continue our journey when we first started back in 2001, i.e. to promote IT Governance. Our 2 day conference is based on a successful format of presenting topics on (i) Landscape, (ii) Environment and (iii) Standards and Frameworks on day 1, which then sets the scene for the 2nd day which will cover papers on (iv) Implementation, (v) Solutions and (vi) Experience. Our distinguished panel of speakers is selected based on their vast experience and expertise in each topic.
Participants and experts will then have an opportunity to discuss IT Governance in a panel of discussion at the end of each day. Be prepared to connect, discuss and challenge yourself in our conference. Most importantly, participate and take home valuable insights that will provide: - Top management with the direction and mandate for IT governance - For all parties supporting the governance process to understand the business and IT objectives - Insights to manage communication and enable organizational and process changes - Updates on IT governance frameworks and good practices to fit the purpose and design of the organization
